Bajaj Freedom CNG Bike Launched In India: Price, Range, Mileage, Variants

Bajaj Auto on Friday announced the launch of the much-awaited Freedom CNG motorcycle in the Indian market. The new revolutionary product from the Pulsar maker is the world's first motorcycle to get a company fitted CNG powertrain. The motorcycle has been designed and aimed for the average Indian commuter segment which draws huge yearly sales. Currently there is no product which locks horns with the new Freedom CNG bike, however, the bike appeals to the same set of customers say a Bajaj Platina, Hero Splendor or a Honda CB Shine.

The new Bajaj Freedom 125b CNG bike comes with a fairly unique design.

Freedom CNG Bike Price:Freedom CNG 125 bike has been priced starting at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom) for the Drum variant and will be made available in three variants. The company has opened bookings for the new model across its official dealerships as well as the online platform. Starting today!

There will be three variants of the Freedom CNG bike namely Drum, Drum LED and Disc LED. While the Drum variant has been priced at Rs 95,000, the middle Drum LED variant costs Rs 1.05 Lakh, while the top-spec Disc LED variant costs Rs 1.10 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The bike uses world's first "CNG-Hybrid" technology, the Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, mentioned while presenting about the new motorcycle today. He further assured that the company has the back of customers when it comes to the new CNG product. "Isko Humare Bajaj Ki Gurantee Hai Sir," Rajiv Bajaj said jokingly while sharing details of the latest product.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike boasts dual fuel capability, seamlessly switching between petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG) to suit availability and cost, potentially lowering overall running expenses. The bike comes with a 2 KG of CNG tank and a separate 2 L of petrol tank. The company has placed the CNG tank under the seat as displayed in the image below. Moreover, Bajaj Auto says that the bike is capable of running upto 330 km in a single tank.

The bike from its 125 cc engine churns out 9.5 PS of maximum power and 9.7 Nm of peak torque.

Bajaj emphasizes its exceptional fuel efficiency, eco-friendly CNG variant, reliable city performance, and competitive pricing, appealing to budget-conscious commuters seeking sustainable transportation solutions.

Longest seat in segment: The new Bajaj motorcycle has been made keeping in mind "the average Indian customers," the company said. Hence the motorcycle comes with the longest single seat which comes at 780 mm in length.

Cost per kilometer:The cost for running this Bajaj Freedom CNG motorcycle is going to be Rs 1 per km, as mentioned by the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. "This is really a success story for Bajaj Auto," Gadkari further added while sharing details on the new motorcycle.

Other key highlights of the model include the use of a reverse LCD meter console with Bluetooth connectivity and first-in-class rear-linked mono suspension.
