Hero MotoCorp has filed a design patent for an electric dirt bike in India. The application was filed in October last year, and judging by the patent image, the motorcycle may not be road-legal. The e-bike features slender bodywork with no winkers and, of course, no exhausts.

Hero Electric Dirt Bike: DesignHero's electric dirt bike features a single-piece seat and minimal bodywork. The front has a long-travel telescopic suspension, and the back has a swingarm setup. The bike has spoked wheels with single-disc brakes on both ends. Other highlights include a high-set front fender, a tubular handlebar, knuckle guards, and all-terrain tyres.

Hero Electric Dirt Bike: India LaunchIf this electric dirt bike goes into production, it will be sold through Hero's Vida sub-brand. Hero has not officially announced a launch timeline for this new e-bike. Even if it goes on sale, it will cater to a niche segment in the electric two-wheeler market.
